Design patterns for social software

A pattern language is a re-usable conceptual component used in architecting something — a building, an organization, a website — that solves a particular subproblem. Like, how do you allow people to get inside your building? You might combine patterns for pathway, arch, door and foyer to solve your problem.

Clay Shirky has started up a Wiki to co-create a pattern language for social software.
